Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking an appointment with Kinson Hair Studio. By booking an appointment, paying a deposit or attending the salon, you agree to the terms below.

1. About Kinson Hair Studio

Kinson Hair Studio is a specialist hair salon based in Beckenham, focused on curly and naturally textured hair, including wavy, curly and coily textures.

We provide salon services including cutting, colour, treatments, consultations and bridal hair.

2. Appointments and bookings

Appointments are subject to availability and are not confirmed until any required deposit has been paid.

Kinson Hair Studio operates largely by appointment, with many appointments booked several weeks or months in advance. We recommend booking early, especially for specialist curly hair services, colour appointments and bridal bookings.

We use Timely as our booking system. Booking confirmations, reminders and appointment-related messages may be sent through Timely.

We reserve the right to refuse, amend or cancel a booking where necessary, including where the requested service is unsuitable, unsafe, incorrectly booked or cannot reasonably be carried out within the time booked.

3. Deposits

Some appointments require a deposit to secure the booking. Deposits are deducted from the final appointment balance.

If you cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 48 hours’ notice, your deposit may be refunded or transferred, subject to the booking type and our availability.

If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, fail to attend, or arrive too late for the service to go ahead, your deposit may be retained, and a new deposit may be required to rebook.

4. Cancellations and rescheduling by clients

We ask clients to give at least 48 hours’ notice if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Where 48 hours’ notice is given, any deposit paid will be refunded or transferred where possible.

Where less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the deposit may be retained.

Repeated cancellations, late cancellations or no-shows may result in future bookings requiring a higher deposit, full payment in advance or refusal of future bookings.

5. Cancellations by Kinson Hair Studio

In the unlikely event that Kinson Hair Studio or your stylist needs to cancel your appointment due to illness, emergency or circumstances outside our control, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible.

We will offer to reschedule your appointment or refund any deposit paid for the cancelled appointment.

Kinson Hair Studio is not responsible for any additional costs or losses connected to the cancellation, including travel, parking, childcare, time off work or other personal arrangements.

6. Lateness

Please arrive on time for your appointment.

If you arrive late, we may need to shorten, adapt or cancel your service to avoid affecting other clients.

Where a service cannot go ahead because of lateness, the deposit may be retained.

7. Patch testing and strand testing

Patch tests may be required before certain colour or chemical services. Where a patch test is required, the service cannot go ahead unless the test has been completed within the required timeframe.

A strand test may also be recommended before colour correction, lightening, major colour changes or where there is uncertainty around previous colour history, chemical treatments or hair condition.

Kinson Hair Studio reserves the right to decline, postpone or adapt a service if we believe it may compromise your hair health, scalp health or safety.

8. Health, allergies and sensitivities

You must tell us before your appointment if you have any allergies, sensitivities, scalp conditions, skin conditions, medical concerns, pregnancy-related considerations or previous reactions to hair products, colour or treatments.

We rely on the information you provide to assess whether a service is suitable. We cannot be responsible for issues caused by incomplete, inaccurate or withheld information.

9. Hair history

You must tell us about your full hair history, including box dye, henna, previous colour, bleach, relaxers, keratin treatments, perms, chemical straightening, extensions or any other treatment that may affect the service.

Results may vary depending on hair history, condition, texture, porosity, density and previous treatments.

10. Results and expectations

We always aim to provide high-quality, realistic and wearable results.

However, hair services are affected by many factors, including hair condition, previous colour history, curl pattern, porosity, density, home care and product use.

We cannot guarantee an exact match to inspiration photos, but we will always give honest guidance on what is achievable.

11. Aftercare

You are responsible for following any aftercare advice given.

Results may be affected if recommended aftercare is not followed, including the use of unsuitable products, heat styling, swimming, sun exposure, home colouring or chemical treatments carried out elsewhere.

12. Complaints or concerns

If you are unhappy with any part of your service, please contact us as soon as possible so we can review your concerns.

We may ask you to attend the salon for an assessment before any further action is agreed.

We cannot properly assess concerns where another salon, stylist or person has altered the hair after your appointment with us.

13. Photography and video

We may ask to take photos or videos of your hair for salon records, education, portfolio use or marketing.

Photo and video consent is optional. You can choose to opt in or opt out during the booking process or by telling us directly.

We will not use identifiable images for marketing without your permission.

14. Personal belongings

Please take care of your personal belongings while in the salon.

Kinson Hair Studio is not responsible for loss or damage to personal items unless caused by our negligence.

15. Children and guests

Due to space, safety and insurance considerations, we may limit additional guests in the salon.

Children must be supervised at all times and kept away from heated tools, chemicals and salon equipment.

16. Pricing

Prices may vary depending on hair length, density, texture, product usage, time required and service complexity.

Quotes given before or during consultation are estimates unless confirmed in writing. Additional charges may apply where extra time, product or work is required.

17. Right to refuse service

We reserve the right to refuse or stop a service where we believe it is unsafe, unsuitable, unrealistic or where a client behaves in a way that is abusive, threatening, discriminatory or inappropriate.

18. Limitation of liability

Kinson Hair Studio is not liable for loss, damage or dissatisfaction caused by inaccurate information provided by the client, failure to follow aftercare, previous hair treatments, allergic reactions where no prior sensitivity was disclosed, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
